Does it work on all-black cats or in the dark?
Yes. While traditional cameras often struggle with black cats due to low contrast, PapaPaw WhiskerID uses advanced visual intelligence and a dedicated low‑light night mode. What happens if a "food thief" tries to sneak in behind my senior cat?
We call this “piggybacking,” and we’ve engineered a solution for it. PapaPaw WhiskerID features a 360° Proximity Shield. If the AI detects a second face or a secondary mass entering the “Feeding Zone,” the lid will not open, or it will gently close to protect the specialized food. My cat is very shy/scared of noises. Is the motor loud?
We specifically designed WhiskerID for Senior Kitizens, who can be more easily startled. We use a high-end Ultra-Quiet Brushless DC Motor. The lid opens and closes with a soft, smooth glide that is quieter than a human whisper (less than 30dB), ensuring your shy cat feels safe and comfortable.
What if the Wi-Fi goes out or there is a power outage?
Your cat’s health shouldn’t depend on your internet router.
Offline Mode: WhiskerID stores your cat’s facial profiles locally on the device “at the edge.” If the Wi-Fi goes down, the feeder will still recognize your cat and feed them.
Is it easy to clean? (Especially for cats with chin acne or allergies)
Absolutely. We’ve replaced cheap plastic bowls with Medical-Grade 304 Stainless Steel. It is non-porous, dishwasher-safe, and recommended by vets to prevent “feline acne.” The bowl and hopper are easily detachable for deep cleaning.
Why not just use a microchip feeder?
Microchips are great for identification, but they make for poor feeders. Chips can “migrate” (move) down a cat’s shoulder, causing the feeder to fail.
